The first step in laptop LCD screen replacement is to being separating the screen bezel, from the display cover. There are no screws securing the bezel in place, therefore it should be easily removed from the hinges. Remove the 6 screws that secure the laptop LCD screen assembly, and separate the LCD screen assembly from the display cover. Place the laptop LCD screen assembly face-down on the palm rest, to gain access to the back side of the screen.

Next, disconnect cables for the laptop LCD screen, located on the back of the display. Also disconnect the video cable connector, running from the LCD screen control-board. When replacing laptop Lcd screens, parts of the video cable may be glued to the screen. Carefully unglue the cable, and disconnect it from the inverter-board. Then, remove the screen assembly, and transfer the mounting brackets from the broken screen, to the replacement laptop Lcd screen.

At first glance, the inverter-board appears to be attached to the LCD screen. The inverter board can be removed and replaced separately, and is secured to the LCD bracket by a single screw. Disconnect the screen backlight cable from the inverter-board, and slide the inverter about 3-4 millimeters. Lift up the left side of the inverter, and remove it from the bracket. The inverter-board can be glued back onto the bracket with the replacement laptop Lcd screen.
